What I recommend
Here’s a list of different tools that I’ve found to be worth the investment and that have been helpful to a lot of people trying to lose weight. I will NEVER recommend something I don’t use for myself or for my clients.
Food
Unrefined salt – Your healthy diet doesn’t have to be bland. Salt it up! This kind of salt will actually help you regulate your blood pressure, unlike the refined stuff (table salt).
Grass-fed and pasture-raised meat – These meats are superior to anything you can find at your local supermarket, period. More nutrients, no hormones or chemicals. Plus, they taste better. If you can’t find quality meat locally, US Wellness Meats offers very competitive prices, and FREE shipping to all 50 states.
Wild-caught fish – Unless farm-raised mercury-laden fish, this wild-caught salmon and tuna are tested for harmful chemicals and contaminants.
Coconut oil – Don’t worry about the saturated fat content. Coconut oil is very stable under heat and is a proven fat burner.
Stevia – The only calorie-free sugar alternative I recommend. Watch out, a couple of drops of stevia go a long way (it’s hundreds of times sweeter than sugar).
Sprouted grain bread – If you’re looking for the healthiest bread out there, look no further. The sprouting process the grains go through remove all the anti-nutrients and most of the gluten, while leaving more nutrients, fiber, and an awesome nutty taste.
Miso – While eating raw soy products may screw up your hormones and thyroid, I highly recommend including fermented soy like miso to your diet. This soy paste is the perfect addition to asian soups and dishes.
Grass-fed butter – Forget margarine and fake butter: they are terrible for your health. This all-natural nutrient-packed grass-fed butter is the way to go. Who said butter was fattening? This butter contains the natural fat burner CLA!
Gluten-free oats – Oats are not technically gluten-free: they contain a form of gluten which is easier to digest than wheat gluten. If you are gluten sensitive, do not take any chance and go with these.
Raw milk products – Pasteurised milk products are inflammatory, and most people would feel better removing them from their diet. If you love dairy (like me!), try to find local farmers who can sell you the digestible and nutritious raw stuff.
